Sometimes the Spirit works in mysterious ways. There was a girl I was not well acquainted with, except that I would occasionally see her in the English library, where all of the foreign teachers have to work one day each week. Her English name was Cindy, and for some reason, I felt like she stood out. During a prayer vigil last year, we were committed to praying for students, and I felt like I should pray for her, though I had never met her. So I prayed for this stranger for about an hour, not really knowing what I should pray but allowing the student to lead. I had a sense that the Father’s eyes were on her in a special way. This year (the following year) I was meeting one of my close Chinese friends for dinner, and who does she bring along? This girl, Cindy, who I had prayed for! We connected well and have been meeting regularly this semester to practise Chinese. I want to invite her to come to the underground church soon, to allow her to experience the love of the believers there. It was a divine appointment from the Father that we finally became friends!
